Beulah, The Elephant

Lights! Camera! Action! No, this is not a post about the various movies being filmed right here in Boston — this is all about our adventures at the Topsfield Fair last night! 🙂
The lights mesmerized Isabella. Mommy was constantly snapping the camera. And the action was us meeting Beulah, the elent as Isabella calls her!
Honestly, I am all for animal rights and try to support all of that earthy crunchy stuff (I can call it that because I am crunchy myself!), but ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of riding an elephant. I won’t go on and on telling you about how every year my parents took me to this same Topsfield Fair and I begged to ride the elephant, but they told me no and that elephants swallowed up little girls name Katie in their trunks — kind of a terrorizing thing to tell a little kid, huh?! And I won’t even tell you how I went to the circus once and ever since then dreamed of being the lady all dressed up in a sparkly outfit with a giant matchin headpiece riding on the elephant. No, I won’t tell you that stuff — I will just show you these amazing pictures of me and Isabella riding Miss Beulah, the elephant! 🙂
And by the way, Miss Beulah is actually 41 years old and has been coming to the Topsfield Fair her whole life which means that she was the SAME elephant who I relentlessly begged to ride and finally got to after 20 something years!!! 🙂
